When I was nine years old, Columbia, South Carolina encountered a huge flood. When I heard of the news, I was heartbroken because some people lost their family members. So, I thought of an idea to help children have their favorite snacks and have some fun things to do while they recovered from the flood.

I created packages called Savannah Kares Kits.  Savannah Kares Kits include Capri Suns, water, coloring books, crayons, markers, colored pencils, board games, soap, lotion, deodorant, hair products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, and much more. I made more than 100 packages by using my allowance money and asking for donations from family and friends. When the project was completed, I traveled to Columbia and delivered them to a shelter. I was so happy that there were so many donations from all over the state. I hope that I can continue to help everyone know that they are not alone because Savannah Kares.
